Lydiard Tregoze Bells

St Mary’s have a full circle of 6 bells which are rung every Sunday for the morning service. Practice night on Thursday 7.30-9pm welcoming visiting ringers, would-be ringers and those who want to join this ancient tradition.

Full circle ring in F sharp, tenor 11-2-20.  Three of the oldest bells date from 1635 (almost 400 years old and still working well), one bell 1701 and two more recent bells 1964.

The bells are rung regularly for many historic occasions including tolling 99 times to mark the life of HRH Prince Philip and more recently the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II and the ascension to the throne of King Charles III.

Practice continues to ring for the Coronation of Charles III in May 2023.
